Design for Resilience in your own Integral House

This is a course to learn how to Design and Implement Regenerative Solutions for Future scenarios. We will lower the ecological footprint of our homes and increase the level of our personal and community resilience. We will reach out to you as you are introduced to Home Sustainability and Permaculture. We will share our experience and ideas for all the petals of the permaculture flower or the HaBC of our Life (our Habits, the Biological environment, our Built context).

Like many others, we take an analytical and critical view of the systemic realities that surround us today. The depletion of resources, widespread pollution of our landscapes and food, energy insecurity, the social and economic vulnerability present in our societies, and, of course, the effects of a chaotic climate and the scarcity of fossil fuels lead us to believe that it is time to design “a possible future.”

In spite of everything, we are driven by a strong conviction of change, that we are capable of transforming our lives to know how to adapt to what we cannot change or to redesign what we can.

That is why we would like to share this format to obtain your Certificate of Design in Permaculture (CDP) where you will learn how to apply Permaculture in your life, in your home, in your professional activity, in your community?

We’ll share different strategies, techniques, and solutions that you can adapt to your own situation. We’ll explore a different, creative way of looking at and thinking about problems and solving them. We’ll support you and guide you as you develop the ability to design a more sustainable future for yourself, your family, your community, and ours…

A PDC that is as inclusive and holistic as possible

The course format will allow you to access the content from home and put it into practice in your life right away, without having to leave your house, and with the support of a community dedicated to learning, practice, and mutual support—even though it’s online. The “practical” component that many people are looking for takes place through live conversations and collaborative online design exercises in small groups, and we’ll also invite you to implement changes directly in your life and in your environment, which you’ll share with your learning community on our forum. That’s why we say this is a blended-learning program—it does include a practical component. We don’t just offer pre-recorded and written content on the website; we guide you through putting it into practice.

We offer 12 live virtual sessions (24 hours), 12 modules with pre-recorded content and carefully selected resources so you can delve deeper into the topics that most interest you from our range of#SABERES (minimum 36 hours), and 12 recommendations for reflection and design exercises—individual and/or group-based (minimum 12 hours)—to help you integrate what you’ve learned (Head, Hands, and Heart). We’ll also offer optional live Q&A sessions (4 hours). You’ll need to set aside at least 8 hours for the final group project during the last 2 months of the course. Thisbrings the total to a minimum of 90 hours of training in this online CDP. Some testimonials from participants so far tell us that there’s enough material for many more hours—if you want to follow all the links we share! (Head)

Live sessions will be held every second Thursday(to be confirmed for the ’25–’26 session) with an additional Q&A session for each block of three modules. The schedule will always be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CEST ( to be confirmed for the ’25–’26 session). Contact us to find out the dates of our live sessions (remember, you’ll need to have participated in at least 80% of the module’s live sessions to qualify for certification; the Q&A sessions are optional).

The section on exercises and reflections will help you start applying permaculture to your daily life right away. We’ll suggest a range of actions for you to choose from so you can immediately reduce your ecological footprint and increase your positive impact on your surroundings (Manos).

We’ll provide an online space where you can share your observations, reflections, questions, and concerns with a community of people who are just as curious and passionate about life as you are. We’ll build a network of collaboration, because it’s through cooperation that we’ll overcome our challenges (Heart).

We are Aline and Juan Pedro, and throughout the course we’ll share with you all the professional and life experience we’ve gained over the past 15 years—and beyond—in various fields, as well as at our own demonstration sites, such as our shared home, Can Cel, in Vallalta, Alt Maresme, Barcelona.

Why choose this course?

Because it is an updated and necessary training for the times we live in.

Because it has a format that allows work and family conciliation, without having to be absent from your home for 2 or 3 weeks at a time.

Because it is given by people who live and practice permaculture on a daily basis designing, training and implementing solutions in varied contexts and with a great diversity of clientele.

Because Permaculture is considered (from the EU and from the UN) as one of the most complete disciplines to develop the regenerative solutions we need for the next decades and we need people capable of facing these challenges.

Because you will have unique and exclusive content that you won’t be able to find in any social network (the Johnnies’ videos are becoming famous).

Because we share with you our experience in the professionalization of Permaculture, so that you too can re-design your livelihood to be fair.

Because each edition of the course is redesigned and adjusted taking into account the feedback from the participants, hence the increase in the number of hours of the direct courses and the limit of places per cohort, among other things that we have been changing.

The Certificate, the basis

If you wish, you will have the option to earn the Permaculture Design Certificate (CDP). To do so, you’ll need to participate in one of the final design groups and have attended at least 80% of the training (live virtual sessions per module and having shared your reflections and chosen actions per module).

Aline holds a Permaculture Diploma (accredited by the Academy of Integral Permaculture at the 2018 European Convergence in Ireland), is a tutor at the Iberian Permaculture Academy, and is a Certified Educator with the British Permaculture Association. Your certificate will then be internationally recognized and will serve as the foundation for enrolling in the Diploma in Applied Permaculture anywhere in the world.
